Matheus International is different from all other comparable firms in that it is not an advisory firm that operates on a wholesale basis. It is a boutique institution with laser-focused detail and involvement from its Founder and CEO. Its Founder and CEO is directly involved in every detail of every transaction and has unparalleled experience in all facets of the transaction cycle, from origination to credit management to workouts, including experience as the head of an Infrastructure and Project Finance department for a leading US international financial institution, MD of a major DFI Credit Policy department which chaired the Credit Committee and as Chief Risk Officer of a major emerging market investor and has substantial US corporate and investment banking experience. As a result, clients benefit from actual hands-on credit structuring, origination, and credit management expertise which results in better, more cost-effective, longer-term and more efficient capital. Matheus International’s business model is not predicated on a volume-driven business approach and a “closing-the-deal-at all-costs” philosophy in order to generate a placement/transactional fee for its own account but rather on obtaining the best outcomes for its clients and will ensure a strong on-going relationship with the investor.
Matheus International has access to all major Development Finance Institutions, private equity and infrastructure groups, major and local banks, US and European development agencies and all key emerging market investors in the US, Europe and Asia which provide equity capital, senior and subordinated debt, technical assistance, feasibility studies, grants and concessionary financing. Matheus International does not underwrite any securities transaction and thus, does not act as an Investment Bank in terms of underwriting equity or debt transactions. Further, Matheus International is not a broker-dealer. In transactions that a require broker-dealer, Matheus International will refer the work to a US, European or local broker-dealer.
